An organization known as Southern Gay Archives has been founded in Boca Raton, Fla. to preserve books: periodicals, newspapers, and related items that both "directly and indirectly document the movement for Gay Rights and Liberation." The

A Gay/Lesbian Health Professionals Group has been organized in Ann Arbor, Michigan. This group is open to anyone involved in health or medically related fields or students in those fields and it meets bi-weekly on Tuesday nights. One of the projects the group has undertaken is to run a Lesbian/Gay Male V.D. Clinic on Monday nights at the University of Michigan Student Health Services Clinic. In addition to counseling. diagnosing and treating gay persons for venereal diseases. lesbians are available for counseling lesbians in health or medical concerns. The United Church Coalition for Gay Concerns in Ohio will sponsor an overnight gathering in Oberlin, Ohio beginning at 5 p.m. Saturday. Nov. 1 and ending by 3 p.m. Sunday. Nov. 2. The gathering is open to anyone interested in sharing, support, and discussion about issues of concern within the United Church of Christ. Participants should bring sleeping bags. At a symposium on brain research held in Eugene, Oregon, clinical psychologist Julla Sherman of Madison, Wisconsin reported that her studies indicate that differences in math ability are not caused by brain differences. Her studies of 1,000 students for four years show that differences in math ability are caused by cultural and societal conditioning Sherman has been researching the topic for 15 years. Movie producer Michael Douglas has taken the option to film the book Looking for Rachel Wallace by Robert B. Parker. Set in contemporary Boston, the private eye' novel concerns a straight male detective's attempts to protect a famous lesbian feminist writer from someone who is threatening her life.
